FEMA vs. Wal-Mart

Tonight, cable news folks are comparing how Wal-Mart successfully responded to the Gulf Coast needs immediately after the Hurricane disasters, whereas FEMA failed in the same effort. Hello!

I can name the locations of three Wal-Mart warehouses. I can also well understand how they could easily redirect their distribution efforts to an emerging need. Its as easy as loading the trucks and directing the drivers to head South. Likely as not, some of the same trucks and drivers that were headed there anyway.

What I can't understand is who would ever expect we taxpayers to maintain like warehouses, filled with like inventories and kept ready to respond with trucks and drivers, in like fashion as Wal-Mart.

If that's the case we better warn the Chinese as they will need to supply us with those like inventories and to vacuum pack everything as it may remain in storage for many, many years.

$44 Billion in damage from Katrina and Rita

Curious, the same people are in position to help with the clean-up just as they were to salvage the 9/11 mess and I don't suppose you will find their names on a list of Republican party contributors.

Remember, Our Trash Today is China's Treasure Tomorrow and will soon be available again in a retail store near us!

Oregon, we be #1

We earned this Headline placement with our 30% year-to-date increase in on-the-job (and job applicants) testing failures for Illegal Drugs use.

Pot is #1 and Meth a close #2. This isn't bad considering Meth is out of the users body in 72 hours, whereas Pot lingers for much longer. My guess is that in reality Meth is #1 and Pot #2.

But not to fear! With the ever growing flow of Commercially produced, high purity Meth, that is coming here from Mexico (and being supported by our State Government) we can be certain to maintain our First Place ranking for the foreseeable future.

Tipping my hat to KATU

My thanks go to KATU TV-2 for their reporting of the "Protest Gathering" last Saturday in Independence, Oregon. This is when and where the Mexican Mobile Consulate again joined with sixteen state and local governmental agencies to lend aid to Illegal Aliens who have chosen to sneak into the US so they might enjoy the fruits US citizens have created.

KATU's reporter entered the Public School building (where persons without appointments with the Mexican Counsel were denied access) and confirmed the tax supported agencies were in attendance. They also confirmed those agencies were rendering aid to Illegal Aliens and spoke with staff from those agencies confirming them not requiring those recipients to show proof of having legal ability to reside in the United States of America. It was a "Gotchya" moment!

The best part of all is their reporting has given fuel to the outrage of Red Carpet Welcoming of Illegal Aliens and pushed that issue to the forefront of the upcoming election discussions.

Thanks KATU, we won't forget,

A helping hand on the Highway to Hell!

An Illegal Alien's mere presence in the United States (irregardless from where they came) confirms their desire for personal gain and comfort exceeds their respect for government and laws that serve a public good.

Why is it then some expect that once in the US, Illegal Aliens will then willingly accept our laws, embrace our society and adopt our way of life?

I see them showing even less respect for those confirmations than what is common in their homelands and our welcoming their presence supports and rewards that ever degrading behavior.

I was wrong

Originally, I thought I was wrong with under-estimating the demand potential for The Oregon Garden.

Now, I can see I was wrong to assume that I was wrong. But then, today "being wrong" and "being in Oregon" seems to be correct.

Press #2 to see this in Spanish.

Now, we are the bad people!

Now, we are the bad people!

Curious! The StatesmanJournal Editor Richard R. Aguirre's reporter Gabrilla Rico, covered the Illegal Alien Protest Rally at a grade school in Independence, Oregon, where the Mexican Counsel was helping Illegal Aliens to remain and advance in the USA.

Gabrilla gave us these responses from persons who had come to the location for what likely was help from the Counsel and the State of Oregon who is contributing to the welcome process.

Please note Mr. Nuñez's comment about "the kind of people" that live in . . . "his community."

Sorry! I can't recall our relinquishing our community to Mr. Nuñez.

========================================

Noe Nuñez, "I've never seen anything like this," he said about the protesters. "This surprises me a lot and shows me what kind of people live in my community."

Jose Alvarez, 30 of Salem, "This is the government's fault," he said. "If the government wasn't maintaining them with Social Security checks, they'd have to find a job instead of spending time out here doing this."

Golly, that was easy and quite a refreshing experience.

Illegal Alien RALLY! PROTEST! RALLY! PROTEST!
Today in Independence, Oregon

I was there!!

Golly, that was easy and quite a refreshing experience.

No cameras in my face, no requests for comments by biased news people as others were more than welcome to fill those needs and they handled themselves most professionally.

The crowd of less than 50 was stung out on both sides of the street and were as well dressed, orderly and well behaved as people waiting outside most any Olive Garden restaurant on a Summer Sunday afternoon.

Not at all like a bunch of screaming School Teachers or Public Union members chanting what they want and when they want it. We stood there quietly as I would expect most any Law abiding Citizen of the US.

Others reported not finding any State of Oregon vehicles parked in the area. This gave them reason to believe the earlier complaints of publicly funded employees being present at these Mexican Consular sessions to help Illegal Aliens (as they have at earlier events) had accomplished the intended goal. But then, perhaps they only drove their private vehicles and we will pay dearly for their mileage and the use.

From the looks of the two Police Officers and a Private Security person standing at the entrance and their contact with persons approaching, they were only allowing Illegal Aliens into the Public School so as to meet with the Mexican Counsel.

The next event is the MINUTEMAN RALLY on Saturday, October 15, at 1:00 P.M. on the steps of the Oregon State Capitol Building in Salem.

I heartily recommend any and all join me there. It won't hurt, you will not lose anything by being there and the reward of contribution to an effort of Saving the USA will make your ride home a most pleasant one.

"Oregon Kids should be doing Math not Meth"

US Rep. Darlene Hooley just mailed out a high gloss, 4 page, Multi-
colored brochure titled "Oregon Kids should be doing Math not Meth."

In it she mentions:
Her efforts to stop the flow of Meth from Mexico.
Protecting children from meth labs.
Limiting the sale of ingredients to make Meth.

All well and good. However, she doesn't make any mention of sealing off the Mexican Border so we can stop the flow of Illegal Aliens who are bringing Meth, Cocaine and Heroin from Mexico and often use the earning from the importation to finance their travel.

And, she doesn't mention anything about stopping the incentives that are drawing the Illegals, that include free health care, free educations for the whole family, free or subsidized housing, free food delivered by non-profits or government agencies, drivers licenses, abilities to send money home to Mexico and government help in obtaining many other benefits and service originally intended for Legal residents only.

I called Sen Wyden's Portland office

I called Sen Wyden's Portland office and left a voice message for the staff person working with Immigration Issues. This was in regard to S 1033, the guest worker bill being presented by McCain and Kennedy.

I listened to the recorded intro message in English, and then in Spanish, and at the end I was told "Mucho Gracias" in Spanish, but not thanked . . . in English.

Next, I called back to listen to that message again to confirm what I had heard earlier. Whereupon the receptionist denied connecting me to that voice-mail a second time and asked I leave my comments with them.

Now, do I really believe my message will be forwarded. What, and allow strawberries to rot on the vines?

Police find powder heroin in traffic stop

State police seized 2 1/4 pounds of powder heroin during a traffic stop Wednesday south of Wilsonville. They found the heroin in luggage belonging to Carlos Reyes-Prado, 38, of Mexico.

Eight other occupants in the van were released after police finished searching the van, Hastings said.

US Senator Ron Wyden, Champion of the Chumps!

Once again Oregon's senior US Senator Ron Wyden (called by some as Ron Whineden) is leading the charge to investigate Big Oil ripping off us lowly consumers with inflated gas and oil prices.

And, once again I suspect he will do as he has for most of his political life. That is to corral all the consumer anger and channel that energy down another black hole where it will reduce in size that fits comfortably in his pocket.

Senator Wyden has done for us consumers what McDonalds has for fine dining.

Job security for the news folks and plenty of over-time!!

Just a few of today's story headlines gathered from various local news sources that I don't suppose will make it in any Hispanic News publications. Perhaps we need an Illegal Alien news rag as I suspect they are who you will find as central to these stories.

New Orleans levees claimed as being sub-standard?

New Orleans levees now claimed as being sub-standard??

I have little doubt the New Orleans levees were less in quality than what was originally designed and specified.

Having worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers on a public works project, I was able to learn how the engineering standards were later adjusted downward to meet what the Minority Contractor had actually delivered.

Lowering the bar can always make losers look like winners.

This AM, KPTV 12 news reported

This AM, KPTV 12 news reported from a Salem location where a fatal beating (of who I suspect was an Illegal Alien) had earlier occurred and interviewed a passer-by who explained what a safe neighborhood it was and then told of a Hispanic woman in Gresham being shot in the leg as she visited a flea market (an illegal alien stolen goods exchange).

Ho hum!

Oh yes, as almost an after thought they mentioned the woman had been caught between two gangs (likely Illegal Aliens) exchanging gunfire.

Then it was on to traffic, weather and chit-chat of a drum festival.

Yawn!!

Why we in the US are proving unable to help ourselves

TV News reports other countries the US has helped with their disaster recoveries are now questioning why we in the US are proving unable to help ourselves after experiencing our own disaster.

The answer is, here we need to deal with state and local government bureaucracies and boat loads of attorneys looking to get wealthy on any missteps they can find.

Whereas, in helping them it was our military and non-profit volunteer organizations that were able to respond without local interference.

Home of the 20 mph Head-on collision, Salem, Oregon

Home of the 20 mph Head-on collision, Salem, Oregon

Most of these occur on heavily congested neighborhood streets, usually involve male or female Illegal Aliens, who can't read the signs, who can't speak English, who don't have drivers licenses, who have never driven a car before in their lives and yet elect to climb behind the wheel and give it a spin.

Why not, what do they have to lose?

Now, what do you have to lose when they hit you between the headlights, even if it is only at 20 mph?

Saturday, September 17, 2005

... and who knows it?

Ah hah! The Portland Police report having recovered a stolen car with using the previously installed LoJack (radio signal) locator system.

The beauty here is the present owner did not know her car enjoyed such a locating feature, however apparently the Police did and they found her car in relatively short order. Golly, that works well.

The question today is, its not what's in your wallet that counts as much as what you have hiding under your cars back seat ... and who knows it?

Minimum wage = Less tax income

Oregon's minimum wage (already the nations second highest) is to soon increase a quarter per hour.

If Oregon law required labor contractors who exploit Illegal Aliens to guarantee a minimum wage, then legal residents could have a shot at those increasing income opportunities.

Otherwise, the new minimum wage will only increase demand for Illegal Alien labor that's primary advantage is substantially reduced labor costs.

Oregon, #1 in labor intensive, fruitless gardening

Headline: Oregon horticultural industry ranks No. 1

Oregon's horticultural industries set a sales record in 2004, with $844 million for nursery and greenhouse products, the Oregon Agricultural Statistics Service reported this week.

=====================================

This is an industry that demands an extremely high level of stoop labor, produces a product that's only worth is found in a Visual and secondarily is non-beneficial other than its creating more demand for low wage stoop labor to maintain this otherwise worthless visual.

Therefore, Oregonians have traded their ability to live peacefully and their children's future so a few large Horticultural growers (many of whom are foreign owned corporations) can enjoy the low cost Illegal Alien labor and the result is we have a garden that bares no fruit.

And what did we find in New Orleans?

As Rush Limbaugh mentioned this AM, New Orleans and Louisiana for that matter has been a Democratic strong hold for over 60 years and now represents all what good they have been able to accomplish with little or no Republican interference.

And what did we find there? A third generation of the "Great Society" as LBJ introduced in his speech of 1965. LBJ did nothing more than create a new welfare class that looked to government for all their needs and once the government began giving, the takings soon followed and it never has stopped.

So what did those members of the Great Society do when they found themselves stranded in New Orleans with the water rising? They called the same people they always call with their wants and needs and that started with the mayor and moved down with everybody screaming to the Feds.

Remember, in Liberal land its not what you do, its how loud your scream.

Commercial Racism?

Wells Fargo to lend $5B to Latino businesses by 2010
Spurred by the explosive growth of Latino businesses.

===================================

If this isn't blatant Commercial Racism, then what is it?

$5 Billion dedicated to those of a specific Race, Creed and Color.

No to Europeans, Asians, Africans or whomever else is left.

Just Latinos!

Guess who is early to cash in on Katrina?

The Big picture in the newspapers business section shows what looks as travel trailers being assembled in a factory and the headline confirms they are headed to the Gulf Coast for use as temporary housing.

I guess some of those Billions of dollars being added to our National debt is going to pay for them. That is well and good.

But now, lets take a long look at just who it is that's providing the manual labor in the building of those Woodburn manufactured travel trailers.

Now where do you suppose a lot of that Federal Recovery money is going to end up?

What makes me think

What makes me think the ACLU would gladly allow us to replace the words "under God' with "bajo Dios."

Most excellent idea!!!

I was watching cable news today as President Bush told members of the UN how Iraq must control its borders and improve documentation verifications, or something to that effect.

Miré hoy como Presidente de bush de Eeuu dijo a miembros de las UN cómo Iraq debe controlar sus fronteras y mejorar comprobaciones de documentación, o algo a ese efecto.

Neil's lap dog is chasing cars!

Oregon is about to lose 630 high-tech jobs at a Gresham manufacturer and our Governor is working over-time to increase the prices of new cars sold in the state by requiring our vehicles conform to California emission laws.

Next, I suppose he will take credit for stimulating the Rental Truck business and helping to create more affordable housing.

Beware the publicly funded Transit Bus,

Beware the publicly funded Transit Bus, School Bus or Special Transport Vans that enjoys "Dark Tinted Windows."

The public agency that operates them will always explain the Dark Tint is for "security purposes" and they are quite correct. However, the intent might be misunderstood as the "security" they seek is "job security" as taxpayers might revolt if they could see how few passengers they carry.

If you look closely you will find its common for these 12 or 14 passenger vehicles (equipped with expensive and seldom used wheel chair lifts) carrying 1 passenger and usually found with 0 passengers as they are most often either going to meet a rider or returning to their base.

This raises the question as to why the private transport services most often use smaller 1/2 ton vans that are capable of carrying 3 passengers max and they are commonly seen with 2 passangers on board.

I'll bet its cheaper to keep a prison inmate in Mexico

I'll bet its cheaper to keep a prison inmate in Mexico than it is in the US.

So why don't we strike a deal with Presidente Fox to keep all the Mexican inmates that we now have in our jails and prisons and at their cost plus 10%.

Our inspectors can conduct unannounced spot checks to keep tabs on those we are paying them to keep, the inmates can enjoy their favored cultures, their foods and their renown Mexican Prison Hospitality.

This would greatly reduce our prison/jail populations, reduce our overall costs and allow us to again incarcerate our own bad people.

All they need do is test their ability

Today its quite obvious how the post hurricane problems in New Orleans resulted from much earlier failures. Those failures being the taxpayers having allowed the gangs and crime to grow to such proportions the criminals were able to take the city at the first sign of the police faltering.

I am confident we will see this happen again and again across the US as other gangs learn of how their equals in New Orleans had succeeded. They outnumber our police many times over and have weaponry equal or superior. All they need do is test their ability and the rampages will begin.

And, here we sit in Oregon with new jails standing vacant for lack of money while we build more prisons that will also lack operational funding and the worst criminals that Mexico can offer are turning our cities into cesspools.

We now have armed security at larger apartment complexes and I suspect mini-markets will soon be sporting armored pill-boxes somewhat like they have at local Emergency rooms.

Question, what is the minimum amount of time allowed for FEMA staff to respond to an emergency call? Considering they are not being called up for Police and Emergency Medical support, what could they contribute in a shorter time frame.

The Salem Fire Department is about to launch a sales campaign for

The Salem Fire Department is about to launch a sales campaign for their proposed 15 year bond measure needed to expand their services.

My hope is that it fails as that might help reduce the almost constant siren parades with each emergency vehicle sporting two Sirens, or as they report "only one dual-tone siren that just sounds as two sirens."

Visitors to Salem are often terrified as here the sound of 4 emergency vehicles (screaming Code-3) is equal in Alarm Noise to what most would know as the sound created by 8 emergency vehicles. This 100% increase in Alarm noise as simply overwhelming to many, leaving them
to wonder what horrific emergency must be in the offing.

This is not to mention the confusion caused to drivers who are trying to clear a path for what they hear as two emergency vehicles when actually only one is underway. This unnecessary trauma is an excellent way to chill what may have been a pleasant shopping trip and give more reason for shoppers to seek safe haven at the Woodburn company stores.

Also, anybody involved in either renting or selling real property in Salem can likely attest of having prospects choose to seek housing away from Salem and that due to our city often sounding more like a war zone. As if the news reports of Salem crime are not bad enough.

I ask, what fool would choose to pay more in taxes if the end result reduced the value of the property on which the tax is based? Isn't that what's called a . . . lose-lose?
