Amazing it is!

I have not heard or seen any major NW News organization (save Obusmax.com) give voice to Boeing's side of the story relative to their decision to move part of the 787 production out-of-Washington.

Its all about Bad, Bad Boeing and that coming from government and the Unions.

This pretty well confirms their decision was a good one.

Look who is showing their Colors, and they are Red, White and Blue!

On the wall just below the menu and immediately behind the cash register you will find these two obvious postings.

These attest to their commitment in participating with the E-Verify program (in both English and Spanish) and that fact is obvious in the staffing.

Here at Taco Bell, 3455 Commercial St SE, Salem.

This franchise is owned by Es-O-En Corp of Meridian, ID and its my intent to call and thank them for their responsible actions and promise them my support.

Are you with me? (208) 888-6428

The insanity of it all!

Here Obama is giving over 1/2 a Billion of US Dollars we borrowed from China, to a start-up European car manufacturer and helping them to buy an old GM plant to employ UWA people (who killed the Big 3) to build a low and sleek Plug-In (limited use) sedan and totally ignores the reality of how we could put our efforts into converting what we already build to Use Natural Gas which have plenty of and use affordable technology we already possess that cuts emissions by 50%.

It only makes sense for those who own futures in Extension Cord stocks.

I was touched watching Obama on TV News tonight.

There he stood proudly before a group of uniformed US Navy personnel at the Jacksonville, Florida Naval Station and speaking to them . . . Directly from his Teleprompters.

Fortunately it wasn't a moving speech as that may have caused him to lose the reflection.

Obama the Golf Player!

Its quite understandable for us to find Obama frequently on the Golf Course as there he is kept safely away from reporters and their microphones and this gives Rahm Emanuel (the man behind the curtain) and his team of script writers time to re-load the Teleprompter players.

Sleepy Ted shows his true colors!

His conveniently being in Europe when word of the Albany Paper Mill closing comes down, gives me reason to call him our first Lemon-Lime (Kool Aid) Govenor as he is both...Green and Yellow.

Not just another headline!

The news about the Albany paper mill permanently closing is only the first line of a sad story that has only just begun.

With Albany being a working persons town mostly filled with modest homes, it will likely soon become a welfare slum much as Longview, Washington has following the closures of many timber industries there.

Regrettably, the many empty mill (and support) workers homes in the Albany area will quickly become cheap rentals and fill with poor people moving there from other states (and US protectorates) so as to benefit from Oregon's many free social services including the much renown . . . Oregon Health Plan.

It won't be long before memories of the paper mill smell will bring tears to many an eye . . . including mine.

Sorry Albany-ites, you didn't deserve that.

Get ready!

As reported on CNBC today, much of the civil unrest in Iraq is claimed a result of their near 20% unemployment.

Then its high time to call out the Oregon National Guard as last I heard our actual unemployment was in excess of 17%.

May not be long.

What's up with that?

My afternoon nap was disturbed by the sound of someone in the neighborhood hammering nails into wood.

Bang, bang, bang.

Shipping crate perhaps?

That is my guess!

With the marked decline of Alcohol generated Violence in Marion County of late, I must assume many of our Landscape Nurseries have burned their cash reserves while waiting for New Home Construction to return.

Now, ain't that a shame?

Did you see that?

There it was, posted on the backstop fence immediately behind the home plate umpire during last night's playoff game in Yankee Stadium.

I can see where game commentating in English captions isn't all that far away.

More of the deception Obama is complaining about????

Hospital to cut costs by $9 million amid losses

http://www.statesmanjournal.com/article/20091017/NEWS/910170337/1001/news

Excerpted: "Demand for hospital services has been greater than ever, but the hospital is receiving less money as more people are insured through government plans such as Medicare and fewer patients come in with commercial insurance, said hospital spokeswoman Julie Howard."

They just don't understand!

Portland City Commissioner Randy Leonard's idea to train the City Water Reservoir Security Guards to carry guns is not to better protect the Water . . . but to better protect the Guards.

http://www.kptv.com/news/21299998/detail.html

You sure wouldn't catch me schlepping around those reservoirs wearing those silly European style uniforms without a Dirty Harry weapon of some kind.

Duh!

La Raza wins again!

Apartment residents told to take down U.S. flags...

http://www.katu.com/news/local/64059697.html

Mexican Nationals living in the US are known to use the Mexican Flag as a tool in antagonizing Non-Mexican neighbors which often results in violent confrontations between opposing parties.

I suspect in this case the apartment property owner/manager has chosen to ban the display of all flags rather than face claims of racism.

Stereo Crime!

The other night two separate Salem businesses on NE Lancaster Drive enjoyed visits by Armed Robbers in a very short period of time, both of whom were using similar guns and both were driving Stolen Honda sedans that were almost identical in description.

This might seem as being highly unlikely and difficult to understand unless you are a Salem resident and/or you happen to own a 90s model Honda or Acura sedan.

The Growing of Government!

It seems our local Salem area Tax Supported handicapped/elderly/disabled transport service "Wheels" has expanded and is now providing even more services to even more people.

What I have come to learn is Wheels are now running competition to all the many private Medical Transport mini-vans that have become common on our streets and highways in the last few years.

Note: I have always appreciated the private Medical Transport mini-vans as they like the Wheels buses usually carried one passenger, but did so much more efficiently and affordably. They were Green, if you know what I mean and they didn't need dark-tinted windows to conceal the waste.

Knowing this helps explain why I recently spotted a Wheels Bus (with the usual single passenger on board) moving North of Estacada and headed towards Sandy, Oregon. Golly that is a fer piece out of the Salem service area. At the time I thought, what somebody has contracted a Wheels 12 passenger rig as a tour bus or was it stolen?

With a quick phone call I was able to learn the new + Medical Transport Service (provided by Wheels) is to fill mobility needs of Oregon Health Plan (OHP) Plus members and Wheels can now bill OHP directly without the member having to become involved. Bend ho!!

Now isn't that swell?

Meanwhile, I have this hunch Craig's List is soon to enjoy a Boom of high-mileage mini-vans being offered for sale. So much for private enterprise.

My continuing education!

Dropped into my bank to deposit a check today and with the same teller as last month and she asks if I have my debit card with me and if so to please swipe it through the key pad.

I do this and now it wants my PIN, so I ask what this is all about and then learn its a new procedure to make the transaction simpler, faster and to better protect my account.

Then I ask how much simpler, faster and safer will it be than giving her a check made out to me, with a deposit slip in my name and my face now staring back at her from the computer monitor?

She then ran through a series of nonsense answers to which I told her I wasn't buying one bit, and then she tells me that in her opinion that it was better for me now.

Next came the truth and I hope she appreciates how her playing the game will bring about the end of her career in banking.

You see, I needn't come into the bank to deposit a check any longer as any of their many ATMs would allow me to conduct the exact same transaction with basically following the same simple steps I had just completed.

The rub here is the check I had given her was hand written by a person with penmanship one degree better than mine and I'm not bragging.

Hope their data processing system has a wild imagination or will I need to wait at the ATM for Raddish in Bombay to come on the line and verify my numerical entries?

Going Full Circle!

Headline: Chinese solar company to build plant in Gresham

So, the stimulus money we borrowed from China will go back to China and we are stuck with a HUGE debt and higher energy costs.

Now, if Portlanders really wanted to prove themselves being green!

They would save the $300,000. they had given to support the Port and welcome dropping the word International from the Airport's name as over the long-run that would save untold amounts of ink and paint.

Just think of all the luggage tags alone that would read PD with no X, not to mention all the savings on business cards, letter head and wear-and-tear on HP printers.

Such an act would demonstrate the Cities commitment to the environment, to the World.

But lets not stop there as they can always look to savings on street signs by reducing the paint and material used and often wasted. Hey, street signs are not cheap.

Example: Changing the street name signs from Union Ave. to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.was a horrendous waste. This when they could have simply chosen MLKJ Blvd. Here again, think of all the business cards, letter head and advertising ink that could have been saved both today and in the future when we run out of oil.

Now, what is it the anti-environment people have planned with 39th Ave. and how can they beat the number unless they use Braille?

But wait, think of how Blind Bicyclists would be better able to find their way around town if the City provided them with Braille Bumps in the pavement.

I think we are on a roll here!

To some its obvious!

That including the Olympic Committee who was able to see through Obama's Tele-prompter facade.
