Sorta like the Good Old Days!

I dropped by my local Jiffy Lube better than a week ago and was greeted by a service tech who explained that I was facing a 45 minute delay and that I was welcome to wait, however he wanted me to know as I might have a better way to spend that time.
Needless to say I was blown away as had that been Les Schwab Tires I would have been given the old "about 20 minutes" routine as they are known for that BS even when the first snow is just starting to fall. I decided to return on another day then found other positive changes in the service Jiffy Lube provides.
Amazing, there was no hard over-sell, the staff was a bit older and went about their work a most professional manner. Yep, no more fist fights in the pits.

They triple checked the oil level after refilling my cars crankcase and that proved to be routine as others enjoyed the same level of service.
I even noticed as one of the service techs installed a bottle of oil or perhaps additive into another customers car and as he shook and mixed the contents thoroughly just as I assume the instructions directed. No, he wasn't aware of my watching his activity and he wasn't just killing time as he put a lot of energy into shaking that container.
Not only that, the office was cleaner that I have seen it before and the coffee was excellent.
Yes, I pinched myself and I wasn't dreaming.
Thanks again to the crew at Jiffy Lube in the 3200 block of Commercial St. SE here in Salem. You have restored my faith in the belief that a little economic downturn can turn-up the quality of services rendered.

What does 1859 mean to you?

If you are an Oregonian you might recognize that as the year Oregon became a State.
But then, if today you were a Stock Holder/Investor of Sears/Kmart you might know that number as $18.59 or the amount your shares dropped in value (per each) in less than the last month.
See for yourself here: http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=SHLD#symbol=SHLD;range=1d
Now, how do we say "Tanking" in Spanish?
My guess is they have Over Embraced Diversity and now its come home to roost.
I say Roast on your Roost you sell-out money grubbers. Pack sand!

The man is a Buffoon!

Oregon's Governor Ted Kulongowski helping to fill food boxes for the poor is like a Emergency Room nurse giving an IV to a bleeding patient and doing nothing to heal the injury.
He ignores the wound he has helped inflict on Oregon's economy and wants others to join him in feeding those who have suffered as a result.

I suppose next he will drain all our lakes and then claim we have a water supply shortage.

Good news in the Mail Box today!

It came in the form of New Ads, New Discount Coupons and more Notices of Relocation.
The big difference today is that I have never seen several of these advertisers in my mail box before and they are unique with presently being located in NE Salem or what many call Mexalem because of the heavy population of Illegal Aliens, mostly from Mexico.
One new flier is an 8 coupon ad from HomeTown Buffet where I haven't eaten in years as it became over-run with people speaking loudly in Spanish and their many out-of-control children. It looked more like a school of Bad Behavior.
Here is another flyer from the Orowheat Bakery Outlet Store where again I seldom visit and simply because of the high-risk neighborhood. They are located at the intersection of NE Hit and Run streets.
And, here is a "We're Moving Notice" from another Mexalem area business that I haven't visited for well over a year and they are soon to be in my neighborhood. Olay!!
Judging from these ads and all the freshly vacant store fronts in Mexalem, I'm willing to bet that Embracing Diversity hasn't panned out all that well for many of the business folks that sold out early to the Illegal Alien Invasion.
What did I ever do before they invented paper shredders?

.com/Sub-prime candidate for President

They come in Threes
First we had the .com fiasco when many bought into the new-age economy where old school Reality had no Merit and everything rolled along quite well until it all came crashing down as many (including myself) had predicted.
Then came the Sub Prime fiasco where again old school Reality had no Merit and all was good at least until it all came crashing down as many (including myself) had predicted.
Now we have .com/Sub-prime candidate for President and again a large portion of the US population is supporting a person who also lacks any old school Merit.
So when does this .com/Sub-prime Presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama come crashing down or this time do we go on to crash with him as I and others predict may well happen?

Monkey See!

Its time I climbed on the Oil Crisis Inflation Band Wagon as I am no doubt losing money.
As of this AM I am going to increase the fee I charge myself for writing this blog by 50%.
Sorry, but this can't go on as operational costs have skyrocketed and that all because of higher Oil prices.
You see, someone out there in the Web World might choose to print part of my blog and that would consume Ink and we all know what Ink is made of, don't we?

Isn't it amazing to learn how everything is interrelated to Oil?
I have little doubt that Printer Ink now sold in 1.4 oz. cartridge form will jump from $1800. a gallon to over $3600. a gallon and where will that leave you and me?
My hope is that nobody will assume I am just taking advantage of the situation and exploiting an opportunity to blame others for my greed.

Note: You will be advised later of any changes in Blog reader fees.

The Up side of a Down Economy!

That being, the Illegal Aliens are feeling the loss of income more than others.
The most obvious sign is how Gas Prices alone have directly impacted those on the bottom of the economic ladder and proof is found in our now enjoying a good reduction in the number of Drunken Drivers and Hit-and-Run car accidents.
Here it is with two days down in a three day holiday weekend and I haven't heard of one broken power pole or a residence having a vehicle being driven into a bedroom.
Another positive point is that many home owners are choosing to stay close to home on days off and do their own yard work. Look mom, I'm getting some exercise.
Then we have the drop in new home construction which is hitting the stoop labor market especially hard and that includes the landscapers and Nursery Growers.
Now, if we have seen a 20% fuel cost increase in plain cake doughnuts what can we expect to see in oil based roofing material and exterior paint? My bet is that impact will drive many home owners to postpone those needed tasks for another year.
So maybe now you won't feel quite so bad when hearing negative business news.

We will know more in the morning

Salem's public transit bus system called the Cherriots (named after the Cherry City) shuts down every Saturday night at 10:00 pm and usually doesn't resume service until early Monday mornings.
This isn't appreciated by anybody more than Salem Police as the night time bus service only makes their task more difficult.
However, last year they stopped running the normal Monday schedule on Holidays (as they had for many years) as the over-time bonuses paid to drivers broke the budget and that a big concern after the voters dumped their proposed massive increases.
But recently they have sprouted out with a new fleet of buses (much like the school district) which makes me wonder if the wound the voters inflicted hasn't healed itself.
We will know more in the morning when and if we see a return to empty busses touring the neighborhoods as if tomorrow was just another working day.

Late update as of Monday morning: No Buses, we win!

What I am finding,

Is that many of the 40 and under voters are so involved with the personal lives and those of their children they have no time for the News or to track current events other than what snippets they catch on NPR, which they assume is straight, unbiased scoop as its not overtly profit driven and is government owned.
The under 40s total focus is on maintaining their possessions (which is not easy in a down economy) and to enrich their children's lives with the Arts, the Environment and Embracing Diversity.
Therefore, when Barrack Hussein Obama comes along and tells that he wants to help them with those goals they will blindly support him without question.
Quite understandable as JFK hoodwinked me and everyone I knew and we were nowhere as busy as the under 40s are today.

Remember the day,

When finding a woman lying "dead" in the middle of a much used roadway would have grabbed #1 position in the headlines?
But then, there was the young man found dead in a ditch near Molalla the other day and he thought to be the victim of a hit-and-run driver and last week when the driver and a passenger (both Hispanic males) stopped their vehicle in Portland to unload a pedestrian they had hit and had remained lodged on their hood for a five to six block ride.

Yes, they dumped his limp and bloody body to the side and drove away. Note: He did recover.
As I recall those were the days before we began Embracing Diversity.

Going Green Works for me!

When checking in at a Lincoln City Motel I decided it was time I start helping to save the planet.
This began during the sign-in when I asked they skip the normal AM housekeeping visit as if I found myself in need of any additional items (such as fresh towels) I could call or retrieve them for myself.
Management thought that was a champion idea and gave me a room rate discount for the consideration.
Lets count the ways how my decision helped the planet:
#1 It helped reduce the use of nasty cleaning Chemicals.
#2 The dollar savings will help me pay for less efficient (but some people believe is a more earth friendly) E85 gasoline
#3 I didn't need to worry about who has been snooping into my belongings when I was away from the room.
#4 The Illegal Alien housekeeper (Carmalita) will be sent home a bit earlier on those days and with a few less US dollars to avoid paying taxes upon.

How old am I?

I'm so old that when I visit a Starbucks and ask for a Grande COD with Space all the staff within hearing distance turn and give me a bewildered expression as if to ask, "what."
Then I get to explain Starbuckease as I was taught and that COD was code for Coffee of the Day and Space asked it not be so full that cream (milk) could be added at the service bar. Yes, the Space needed would be at the top of the cup and it minimized the spill and burn exposure.
I don't even want to know what Starbuckease has replaced my learned language as I suspect it involves the words Issue, Environment or Relationship.
Now, to teach the new Starbuck generation the difference between a Latte and a Cappuccino. That does involve some detail and we have many thousand employees to educate.

I'll need your help on this.

US House speaker Nancy Pelosi visits Iraq

What could inspire Moslems to join the radical movement more than Nancy visiting Iraq?
Perhaps on her return she will stop off in India and help slaughter a cow.

Have you noticed?

That most of those screaming that Iraq should be Paying for the War with Oil are many of the same people who claimed the War was all about Oil?

Embrace Up!

Last night Woodburn Police (along with the support of Marion County Deputies and OSP officers) devoted much of their time tracking Hispanic Gang members as they practiced their skills at Flash Mobbing (up to 30+ people) and then dispersing only to re-assemble another Flash Mob again elsewhere.
Peek-a-boo, I see you!! Makes me wonder if they are not all sharing in a Sprint Family Network plan or is that an ATT offering?.
I fully well expect that one day soon they will take on our Law Enforcement and I have little doubt as to who will win. That is until the Governor calls in the National Guard but by then much of Marion County will have gone up in smoke and it won't just be port-a-potties on the grounds of the State Capitol building.
With 96 degrees expected Friday and the beer delivery trucks running hard I suspect things may get hairy wild this weekend.
What does Diversity have in store for you?

I wouldn't be surprised!

Tonight Salem Police are investigating an armed robbery of a Mexican Bakery in NE (Mexalem) and their job is being made more difficult as none of the staff can speak English.
Knowing of the Mexican culture and their common disregard for law and order, I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn the victim is hiding the perpetrator in a back room.
P.S. Where do the Guatemalans buy their disgustingly sweet bread?

I was wrong about John McCain!

I have always thought of Senator John McCain as somewhat like a Hood Ornament, whereas he looked good but in reality didn't serve any useful purpose.
But after listening to him recite the speech he fumbled through today in Portland, Oregon I now see him as being more like a Trailer Hitch the Liberals can use to pull in some votes.
Suddenly, my being stuck between a rock and a hard place seems preferable.

With Friends to Taxpayers Like Them!

As we Oregonians struggle to hold our failing economy together we are being constantly dogged by our government agencies and a prime example of this is made evident by the commerce killing Traffic Accident Reconstruction Investigations.
The closing of Hwy 99w between Newberg and Dundee for three and a half hours Sunday, beginning in the late afternoon on Mother's Day, no doubt created major problems for thousands of taxpayers and all for no reason other than to fill ODOT's need to gather data for their otherwise purposeless engineers to peruse.
Please consider the productivity and income lost in Bend or Redmond when ODOT and OSP close Hwy 20 in the Santiam Pass area or Astoria when Hwy 30 near Clatskanie is closed for the best part of a business day.
Our Public Employees are choking the life out of our economy and they want more money so they can double the effort.

I wish!

That today I could escort the late JBJ (Lyndon Baines Johnson, thirty-sixth and Democratic President of the United States) on a tour of my local (in the better part of town) Winco Foods (employee owned) grocery store (where prices are less) so he and his wife Lady Bird Johnson could see the second and third generation result of their "Great Society" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Society - 72k -) welfare program.
The main goals of LBJ's Great Society program were social reforms including were the elimination of poverty and racial injustice.
What they would find today is the percent of non-productive individuals in the US today is many hundred of times greater than it was when the effort began and we now have race riots in our high schools with those involved numbering in five to six hundred per event.
We built it and they came!

Headline News!

Vandals Tag Beaverton, Tigard Neighborhoods
The neighborhoods are up in arms over the fast growing Graffiti problem (issue) that is causing visual degradation to their Utopian Worlds.
"The vandalism needs to stop." Whoa, that's some tough talk!!
Nothing was said about Hispanic Gangs creating the Graffiti.
Isn't that like complaining about accumulation of dog crap on the sidewalk but not mentioning the dog or the irresponsible owner?

White Wash or Brown Out????

Its amazing to see how of those Oregon Counties posting their Most Wanted Criminals on the www, it seems the Hispanic monopoly has all but disappeared.
Where have all those Tattooed Hombres gone and where have all those Bad Gringos come from?
What I also find interesting is noting from the Marion County Jail's Intake Roster of last Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the percentage of Hispanics hasn't seemed to change from earlier times with it running 26%, 43% and 33% respectively.
Is it the Hispanics are just not as Bad as they were before?
But then, perhaps if a Most Wanted Criminal is found also as being an Illegal Alien the counties may consider them a Federal Problem and as with Immigration Law Enforcement they tend to look the other way.
Smells like an Executive Level (Politically Correct) adjustment decision to me.

And so the Pendulum Swings!

A few months ago a story like this would have never been reported or published.
Sadly enough its typical of so many other stories that I am personally aware of that have been swept under the Politically Correct Rug.
This in the effort of shoving Diversity down the publics throat and ignoring the harm that Illegal Aliens have inflicted on our society.
Exasperated authorities may finally have found a solution to Ignacio Merendon-Zerega's penchant for getting behind the wheel drunk and paying no heed to anyone who gets in his way.
The 44-year-old illegal immigrant will spend the next 15 years in the state prison system, then be deported to his native Mexico.

Spare me the tears!

Tonight local TV News reports on how the cost of Gas may be the cause of "Less Traffic" on the freeways.
Then they go on to interview divers of Monster Vehicles and bring us their Sad Stories of how many are suffering with having to feed their 10 MPG guzzlers and travel 60 Miles or more (one way) to and from work . . . every day.
Golly, that is a pity and it my heart breaks as wasn't it you and I that forced them to buy a home in Tillamook or Albany and commute to SE Portland?
Then the nitwits have the audacity to complain when the Wal-Mart Chinese and Aramco Arabs purchase their place of employment and move it out of the USA to where the workers ride scooters and live within the sight and smell of the factories smokestack.
But not to worry as Obama and/or Hillary will make everything alright, you wait and see. In fact tonight I heard Hillary promise to "make everything Safe for me and my family."

Guess I will soon have less fear of finding myself involved with a Ford Exhibition in a head-on collision.

Who can tell me?

Does Sea Lion taste more like Chicken or Pig?

Inventions Needed!

Theft Resistant License Plate Bolts and similar attachment items for use in protecting your vehicles Catalytic Converter.
Either that or somebody to create a www site such as BuyMethOn-Line.com.
The later idea would take much of the profit incentive away from the Mexican Meth Manufacturers and reduce the mule travel subsidy made available to Mexicans who are wanting to travel North (sneak) into the USA.
Besides, just as the Pot Heads suggest with open and legalized Mary J the governments could Tax Meth sellers and Meth buyers and thus have more funding for Addiction programs and Bilingual Head Start education efforts.

Brain Dead Reporting!

Statesman/Journal reporter Dennis Thompson Jr. today explains that Car Theft in Salem is on the rise and tells us that Salem Police are proud to claim they are responsible for the increase.
The headline tells: Salem Police use of bait cars accounts for more than half of the rise in 2007
http://www.statesmanjournal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080504/NEWS/805040334/1001
Great job SPD!!

I think what Denny was expected to report is that Salem Police are proud of the many car thieves they apprehend with using bait cars and perhaps that Car Theft would be an even greater problem (issue to some) if it not for their efforts.

My guess is that as a result of staff cutbacks (due to ad income reductions) the S/J editors were not able to help Denny Spin the story in any specific direction and thus we see a bunch of nonsense in the publication.

To think Denny could have told how being arrested for Car Theft in Salem can cause the accused to be late for an appointment or even worse miss their flight to Salt Lake.

Now, if we just paid Mexico to incarcerate their Citizens we arrest for crimes here in the US we might have jail space for Car Thieves and less Meth available available for the Car Thieves to desire and steal cars to finance the purchase thereof.

Sad yet Amazing!

The sad: Two men died when a small plane crashed outside of Vancouver on Friday.
The amazing: The FAA and NTSB staff traveled a considerable distance to arrive at the scene, completed their usual and appreciated intricate investigation and recovered all the evidence in less time that most Police Agencies burn to investigate a two car fatal accident with numerous witnesses while stopping all traffic in the area for untold many hours, be that a freeway or a country lane.
My guess is that over the years the FAA and NTSB have developed stricter management controls and tighter budgets.

Today they March, Tomorrow they Vote!

And thanks to our Oregon State Government including such Traitors as Rep. Chip Shields, D-Portland, Democratic Secretary of State Bill Bradbury, our Governor Ted Kulongowski and many other Democrats in our Legislature, many Illegal Aliens will vote and that against our best interests.
Initiative Petition #112 is our only tool in defense of our Country and our Society and you will learn all about it here. http://www.respectforlawact.com

News has it,

The Rally at Oregon's Capitol building steps today is to Demand Immigrant Rights . . . and an End to the Iraq War!
So what's wrong with involving those wanting to Save the Sea Lions, more Pay for Teachers, more Skateboard Parks and Greater Benefits for Homosexuals?

Yes, I understand them not inviting the Hemp Heads as they would arrive when its time to leave.
