Losing my wife earlier this year was very difficult.

Covering all the medical co-pay amounts we accumulated since the first of the year as a direct result of Medicare foisting itself into our previously private medical insurance only compounds the difficulty.

Next, dealing with Salem Hospital's chaotic billings are enough to drive a sane person mad.

But what really burns my butt is, when calling Salem Hospital's Brain Dead Accounting Department we must first listen to a recorded message made by a young woman . . . who no speak Inrish so good.

Or as she says, Accouning Deparmen.

Do you think choosing her to produce the recording was simply an over site?

I don't, as it was most likely intentional and that decision was made by a person who likely gained the position because of their Hispanic Ethnicity, not by their ability.

The day will come when Salem Hospital (a profit making organization) wants my support for another tax abatement and then I will then exact my revenge.

Hey Enviros, we have a few problems (issue for some) here!

Seems that many of the Ethanol Happy Farmers have elected to grow one crop of corn, after another crop of corn and are not rotating their fields as is usual.

This presents some problems (issues for some).

#1 It drastically depletes the nutrients from the soil and allows disease to proliferate.

#2 Insects that feed on corn can now multiply many times over without interruption of what sustains their development.

And this presents two more problems (issues for some).

#1 It drastically increases the need for use of artificial (man made) fertilizers and much of that is derived from fossil fuels.

#2 It drastically increases the need for use of insecticides, fungicides and pesticides (man made) much of which is derived from fossil fuels.

Next, we are lucky to break even on the production of Ethanol from Corn and we are killing the mother land in the process.

But what the heck, we put the hurt on Chevron's profits, right?

So, I'm unloading groceries form my car trunk and notice on my first trip into my residence that a neighbor woman is sitting on my patio.

Finding this a bit strange I decide to check her out as soon as I grabbed the last few items of frozen food from the car. It was a Costco buying run and as always they require more than one trip to unload.

Moments later when closing my cars truck I heard a Growl and as I turned towards my front door I spotted two large Pitt Bulls approaching me from behind.

I was lucky with walking at a steady pace and reaching my doorway before they could catch my leg which seemed their target. Maybe they wanted a cookie?

Then I learned from my neighbor how she had sought refuge on my patio after the dogs had cornered her when working in her yard.

Nice little puppies that's owner I'm sure will tell you are gentle and love a good hug.

The sorry part of this story is that we have a growing number of people who feel they want or need Pitt Bulls, be that a power trip, to protect themselves from criminals or criminals to protect themselves from Police.

She recognized that her stopping her car in a strange neighborhood to engage in a business call made her a sitting duck and she liked the secure looks of my property. A wise move.

More and more people like her are now living in a world of fear as if hunted prey, and all because those who we elect and hire to protect us fail to enforce the Laws of our land and that because they fear of being called Racists.
