Somehow this Fair Fight was a real Gang fight and not written off as just a Gang related event or just happened to involve some suspected Gang Members.

I agree with the anomaly tag as its the first time they have been so bold as to gather in such a populated and controlled area and to ignore the warnings given them by Police and security staff.

One detail remains consistent with these Police reports telling of a serious MVAs, is if the persons involved were wearing seat belts and if the airbags had deployed.

This confirms that primary purpose behind the Multi-hour and Economy Killing traffic accident investigations is to determine if those devices had been employed.

Therefore, we taxpayers can be seriously delayed in our travels or sit in a traffic jam for many hours so in the future our government can report how many people were injured or hurt in MVAs and were not protected by seat belts or air bags.

Fatality Vehicle Crash - Driver Charged Mansaughter II

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office - 08/26/08

On August 25, 2008 at approx. 5 p.m. Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle crash on Marion-Jefferson Road SE at Skelton Rd SE, outside of Jefferson, Oregon. Four people to include the driver who was identified as Falon Rae Williams, DOB: 08/23/1985, occupied the vehicle. Ms. Williams provide an Albany, Oregon residence address. The other occupants were Michael Evan Matthews, DOB:03/03/1985 of Tangent, Oregon; Paul Hartzell, DOB:11/28/1990 of Jefferson, Oregon and Ms. Crisman, Rebeckah Jo Ann, DOB:03/27/1992 of Junction City, Oregon. Ms. Crisman, who was seated in the right rear seat was transported to Albany General Hospital where she later died of her injuries at approx. 1:08 a.m. (August 26th). The Marion County Sheriff's Office CRASH Team responded to investigate. All occupants were transported to various hospitals. Ms. Williams was transported to Good Sanitarian Hospital in Corvallis. Her injuries were minor and she was subsequently released. Mr. Matthews who was in the front passenger seat had sustained at least a fractured leg. He was transported and admitted to Good Samarian Hospital. Mr. Hartzell who was a rear seat passenger sustained internal injuries and was transported to Albany General Hospital and then sent to OSHU where he was admitted.

Based upon the investigation it was determined the vehicle had crashed into a tree. The impact did deploy the vehicle's (2002 Ford Taurus)airbags. It is unknown at this time whether the occupants had been wearing their safety belts. None of the occupants were thrown from the vehicle. It is suspected Ms. Crisman was not wearing a safety belt.

The investigation revealed that Ms. Williams had deliberately inhaled gas vapors from a CO2 cylinder prior to the crash. It is believed the inhalation or "huffing" of these gases impaired Ms. Williams' ability to safely operate the vehicle.

Ms. Williams were arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail where she was lodged on charges of Manslaughter in the Second Degree; Assault in the Second degree (two counts); and Driving While under the Influence of Inhalants.

The vehicle crash is still under investigation.

News people everywhere keep referring to all Stun Guns as Tasers and all persons hit with a Stun Gun as those having been Tasered. Tasered???

This is no more correct than describing all persons injured in a car accident as having been Chevroleted for Forded.

Taser is a brand name of a Stun Gun and I suspect any person zapped with a Taser would then have been . . . Tazed.

And, any person zapped with a Generic Stun Gun would then be described as having been Stunned.

Have any doubt please Google the words "Stun Gun" and I suspect you will likely come up with 1,430,000 hits in 00.7 seconds (or less) and Tasers will be among them.

News folks please give the Taser folks a break as their products have saved untold numbers of lives and many more persons from suffering unnecessary injuries.

Is the manufacturers and retailers that have been able to succeed in these tough economic times are those that have been best at managing inventories and thus controlling their costs. Lean and mean is the byword for survival.

Its those who can benefit from "Just in Time Deliveries" of needed material (manufacturers) or finished products (retailers) are who is winning and their time windows are being measured in minutes and hours, not days.

The reality of this needed efficiency is hitting home hard in Oregon where we have not seen any major improvement in our roads and freeways in several decades and what changes that have been made have slowed the flow of traffic and our economic lifeblood, commerce.

The changes, or better said encumbrances we suffer, range from turning lanes being lost to bike paths to the constant Traffic Accident Investigations that close major roadways for hour upon hour while every grit of sand over a wide area is documented infinitum for posterity.

Our governments efforts in Traffic Calming and restricting the use of motor vehicles has suffocated our economy and if we begin to make things right today it will be years before we can catch up with the more progressive parts of our nation and the world, if even then.

Guess its time for we Oregonians to cut bait and think of the good-old-days as we watch businesses leave our state for parts where they are both understood and appreciated.

Today, was the second day in a row that Salem Police released reports of their being Homicides having occurred in the city.

The first report was of a person having died from a beating and the second from a shooting.

What I find disturbing is area TV News stations spent less that 10 seconds of air-time in reporting the two Murder stories.

Comparably, tire slashing and how to 'Be Safe" during hot weather took headline honors.

I can only assume the news folks didn't see the events as being all that unusual and worthy of in-depth reporting as the two Killings involved people of the Hispanic Sub-Culture.

Has Diversity been Embraced when the loss of human life becomes of minimal concern?

Its been proven in Court that many of them were Illegal Aliens the schools helped gain their licenses with using false documents. Therefore I think it only logical to assume that for those fees they also let many skip the driving skill portions of the test.

Based on the reduced level of Police calls to violent situations in the Salem area I suspect that Marion County may also be enjoying a similar decline in Jail population.

My bet is there is also a reduction in the need for Spanish/English Interpreters as well.

If the present reduced level of Spanish Speakers seen in and around Salem is any evidence of Illegal Aliens Leaving the US for home, I suspect our Schools are going to see a drastic drop in Bilingual students in the Fall.
