Last evening Salem's 911 dispatcher directed Police to a motor vehicle accident reported at the intersection of Kuebler Blvd and Sunnyside road SE.
The dispatcher explained to the ranking officer that was responding to the scene of their having numerous calls on the accident and all of them reported there being
No Injuries.
The officer then
requested a full Medical package respond to the scene Code 3 and again the dispatcher explained their being repeatedly informed by citizen (cell-phone) callers . . . telling them there were
No Injuries.
Minutes later a Fire Truck, Ladder Truck, Ambulance and more was on the scene and most remained there for the duration of the Police activity.
So why that you ask?
There are several reasons:
#1 There was then enough emergency vehicles on the scene to completely block traffic and thus provide protection for those providing services and conducting an investigation.
#2 Police staffing was low as a result of earlier exceeding manpower budgets where the Fire Department has plenty of staff with time to burn while directing traffic. Note:
Dragnetting for Illegal Alien criminals takes a huge amount of Police time in Marion county.#3 Taxpayers see these huge responses as proof they are being well served by Police and Emergency Fire/Med agencies.
