Amazing isn't it?

Often times the Medical profession fails to recognize that a malady exists until such time as a major pharmaceutical company begins marketing a remedy for the ailment.

Such is the case with Pfizer and their discovery of and newly introduced product Lyrica (FDA approved June 21, 2007) to benefit those who suffer from the often ignored and frequently discounted ailment, Fibromyalgia.

Some will criticize our sick society that's professions only respond to "The Profit Incentive" before recognizing a reality. "So much for Capitalism" they scream and "We need Socialized Medicine, right?

What they truly fail to understand is that without the "Profit Incentive" driving the engine of delivery, many pharmaceutical discoveries would remain unknown and unrecognized (as Fibromyalgia) before marketing efforts brought light to the solution.

Discovery doesn't always bring reward, as often that results from acceptance and delivery of the benefits.

The team of Lewis and Clark discovered. The Hudson's Bay Company and John Jacob Astor (among others) were the first to directly benefit from their efforts and ultimately so have I, you and yours. What would have happened to Lewis and Clark's discovery had the profit incentive been absent?

My only regret is the discovery of Lyrica came about twenty days late for my wife to enjoy. But then, she doesn't hurt anymore.

Please tell others of Pfizer's Lyrica (http://www.lyrica.com/content/main_common_questions.jsp) so fewer people will suffer as she.
