As I recall when Richard Nixon first ran for President and his winning on a promise.

That promise was of him having a "Secret Plan" to end the war in Vietnam, but he refused to tell of that plan until he was elected.

I was incensed with that and called for him to be charged with treason for not explaining his plan and thus saving thousands of lives and wounds.

Needless to say the Bastard didn't get my vote, but enough anti-war crazies did give him theirs and he was elected handily.

Then four years later with the war still raging he came back and promised that if he were re-elected he would execute the plan he had told about earlier.
