Did you happen to catch that story?
The story about OHSU's newly hired metallurgist? The person who had used a microscope (where previously employed) in discovering that defective Rivets may have been the cause of the Titanic sinking.
Note: Isn't the Titanic sinking under ODOT's jurisdiction?
Golly I'm impressed, but wasn't the Rivet issue (problem) discovered some years ago?
So what are we to make of this "Breaking News" story that has a strange smell to it?
Are we being told that science has made great strides in metals?
Are we being conditioned to accept the fact that OHSU routinely utilizes the services of a staff metallurgist?
Are we being conditioned to accept that OHSU has hired a staff metallurgist to keep an eye on the Tram cables and tower?
Are we being conditioned to accept that a OHSU staff metallurgist will suddenly discover (on her own free time as a hobby) the Steel Bridge (which carries TriMet's Light Rail) has similar Rivet Issues (problems) as what plagued the Titanic?
Excuse me. Perhaps a strong George Gust has flipped a page in my copy of Big Brother Neil's Play Book.
I knew there was something in the wind!
