But then perhaps

Took a tour of Salem's newest SUPER Wal-Mart just for a look see. Huge!!!

Spanish speakers outnumbered the Gringo's 2 or 3 to 1 if not higher. The swarm of Hispanic children made it difficult to count as they moved quickly around the store. (I wonder what they will do in Summer when they can't wear all those down filled ski jackets?)

The interesting part was that of all the many Hispanics in the store, not one was speaking English and that included the children who were being allowed to freely roam the store. I expected that some may be learning English in our public schools and thus might be speaking English when not in direct company of their parents. But no, not a word.

So I am wondering, how it is a family of six can afford such nice clothing, wear gold necklaces, leather coats, buy all what they had in the shopping carts, drive a newer SUV than what I can afford and all this when neither of the parents can speak . . . English?

Pulling weeds and putting dirt in flower pots won't bring in that kind of income. But then perhaps someone else is picking up the cost of food and housing. Now, would that somebody include you and me?
