Darned if the Diversion Trick didn't work, again!

Well now, it seems last weekends Festival de Mexico in Woodburn needed to compete for visitors with a Low Rider (Gang Banger) Car Show held in Portland at the Expo Center.

You know, the same place and event where last year a spectator was shot and killed. Yes, just one and he was a Gringo as I recall.

(Late Sunday TV news told of there being a large group of people hanging out at the Expo location and a large Police contingent was working to safely disperse the crowd)

This was a good tactic on the part of the Woodburn event promoters as a good number of the Hispanic Gang members were drawn away from Woodburn and thus reduced the potential for violence. That must have been a relief for all the Police and citizens who were worried that violence was sure to occur.

Diversion is an old and proven tactic and often used in Third World counties.

This is evidenced in how some keep flies out of the kitchen by placing a bucket of crap in the living room.
