Sirens at Sunrise

6:30 AM Sunday "morning"

Mexican Gang Fight reported on an apartment complex parking lot near the campus of Salem's Chemeketa Community College, where I am told a good number of parolees and probationers are enrolled as students. This as part of their criminal sentences. Their choice was, CCC or prison! This sure helps the jail crowding problems.

As usual the injured were loaded into cars or otherwise hauled away before Police and Medics arrived, so as usual there likely won't be any crime and the logs will not show record of any confirmed Gang Fights or otherwise except for there being a large amount of blood that was reported left at the scene. Bio-hazard littering issues perhaps? Call the Moon-suit Haz-mat people!!

Not to worry. Likely as not the injured fighters were soon showing up at Salem's ER where we taxpayers will again pick up the many, many thousand dollar tabs along with providing the visitors with enough Police protection to keep the hostile groups separated during the day long plus visits.

The Police did track back to a nearby apartment containing twelve people however that may well have been an everyday sleep-over Mexican style. Otherwise, wouldn't you think their neighbors would have complained many hours ago?

Just a tip. If you or any in your family have need for emergency medical care while in Salem I suggest you call for an ambulance rather than go via private car. The waiting room/private car admittance area will likely be one scary place for a good part of that day. The ambulance entry is separate and kept very secure.

Note: The public/private vehicle entry at Salem Memorial Hospital's ER is isolated from the general hospital population with no connecting doors. Its a block and 1/2 walk from one to the other. This allows them to keep the ER secure from the main building and keep any continuing gang fights from spreading into surgery and elsewhere.

Ah yes, the benefits of Blindly Embracing Diversity!!
