Now, where would you look?
Headline: Fire Destroys Replica Of Lewis And Clark Fort
The steam was yet rising from what remains of Lewis and Clark's winter lodge (replica) and Oregon's Gubner Ted Kulonkowski was on site (in Astoria) pledging his support to an effort of replacing the structure.
With him being there so quickly I assume he was camping nearby and the fire sirens disturbed his sleep. At least now we know how to get his attention.
My bet is with over a month to go before the Bicentennial event is to occur, the Gubner can muster a crew to construct a replacement replica.
However, the quality of their work will need to resemble what was used on the original structure and that will require people skilled in the use of primitive tools such as axes and machetes. Note: Please recall the lodge was New when Lewis and Clark first used it and no doubt it was a hastily built or what we call today as "quick and dirty."
Now, where would you look to find such craftspersons today?
