What you don't see in Salem any more!

That be Junior or High School age kids (boys or girls) often walking alone most anywhere in the city, quiet neighborhoods included.
Occasionally you might see a boy riding a bicycle alone, but then obviously demonstrating their having a specific destination and moving right along. None ever giving evidence of casual purpose. Today, they travel like hunted animals hoping to escape their pursuers.
Its not like when you and I were young and finding nothing else to fill our time we would head out for a walk or a bike ride simply for the recreational value or off to visit a friend.
Today, if the kids are Gringo (non-Hispanic) they are never seen walking alone and often in groups of three or more. However, if they are Hispanic the are almost always seen walking in packs of four to six and then "demonstrating attitude."
So much for the Carefree days of Childhood, as today we have Embraced a Third World Culture and with that our young have lost many of those Freedoms we elders so enjoyed.
Shame be upon us all for we have failed our young.
