My best suggestion for Tri-Met!

Is the Portland Metro area solve their Transit Crime problems by following Salem's lead.

As a result of the voters rejecting the Salem Transit Boards absurd tax proposal the entire system has suffered an overall and drastic reduction of service.

This has proven to be a Win-Win for we the area residents.

The first Win has to do with the reduced tax burden. That is always welcome.

The second Win is the sub-culture including the Illegal Drug traffickers and residential burglars, have lost their ability to move quickly around our community.

Yes, the bus shelters are more likely to be used by those waiting for a bus and less as a meeting place to deliver Illegal Drugs.

And, I no longer see homeless types getting off a bus in a residential area and then looking around for what they might consider an easy burglary target.

The cure has come with the One Hour service as bad guys can't just hang in a neighborhood with a pocket full of Meth or a back-pack filled with items freshly stolen from a nearby residence.
Oh yes, it seems we have a bonus Win in that all those who need to get around town are yet able and the complaints have been few.
P.S. Perhaps Bend might want in investigate the Salem system before getting any deeper into trouble.
