Does Portland have a disease?

A friend just returned from working in a sales booth at the Portland Home Improvement and Remodeling Show.

They tell me is was like a morgue with empty booths and exhibitors resorting to all the silly time-burning games they usually enjoy while waiting for the doors to close. Air-bowling in the isles always works well as it also delivers a strong message to the show promoters that things are not well.

Even the entertainment featuring notables from popular Home Improvement TV shows were lightly attended with some seating less than 1/3 of the available space.

What I find most interesting is that of the other Home Improvement and Remodeling Shows in the NW this year, all have been resounding successes.

The bottom line from all this is, some exhibitors believe that prospective show attendees are no longer comfortable in visiting such Portland events and have chosen to spend their weekend at other endeavors.

But then, perhaps its just the smell coming from all the Rotting Pork and layers of Government Corruption that has turned them away.

Does Portland have a disease?

If so, lets name it after an egocentric contributor as is everything else in the city!
