The organizers of Portland's Cinco De Mayo celebration claim this years event exceeded last in visitor count and dollars spent.
Oh yea, Saturday was cool and damp, Sunday was a wash-out, Naito parkway is under construction and a good number of we US Citizens who oppose the Illegal Alien's efforts choose to stay away and yet they make that absurd claim.
That BS fits right in with most of them coming here with the intent to make America a better place.
Just like last night's drive-by shooting that landed a bunch of people in the Hospital and one near death.
That gave our economy a boost with all the Medical services consumed and Police overtime that runs on almost 12 hours later.

I hadn't seen the "stats" claimed by the organizers of the Cinco de Mustard - er, Mayo - thing. It seems a bit suspect to me, though - one of the main entrances to Waterfront Park was closed due to construction, and as you note, there were other isues that render the claim suspect.
I was looking at a report on the drive-by shooting and found two things of particular interest: 1) it occurred in what residents described as a quiet neighborhood. 2) Everyone involved seems to speak Spanish.
How surprising.
