Google'ing up Cesar Chavez, Biography I quickly found several versions on the www.

One tells of how Cesar's father was unmercifully Swindled time and again by Greedy Gringos, which I wouldn't doubt. Hey, unlike Hispanics not all Gringos are wonderful people.

However, another explains Cesar's father was wiped out in the Great Depression of the 20s and took the hit with everybody else.

Just as my Grandfather was wiped out by the Depression. Yet he was able to later repay all those many who had deposited or invested their money in his Bank. Yes, his Bank.

Funny how it is that nobody is getting excited about naming a street after my Grandpa.
