Every Wednesday as usual!
The Publicly Owned State vehicle returned to my neighborhood again today but with what looked as a different person (aide?) in the front passenger seat of the late model Chevrolet (and very dirty) four door sedan. The driver was the same as well as the passenger who I can only assume is a Department of Human Services (DHS) Client/Trainee.
Note: This person I suspect is likely a resident in one of many DHS managed Group Homes that were created after the State closed the Fairview Training Center. Fairview was nothing more than a warehouse for people of all ages that for many differing reasons were not able to function in open society and where few if any ever left once being admitted.
Yes, another one of these sham educational programs nearing equal value to teaching a mentally challenged person how to . . .
Sweep a Floor with a Flashlight Beam!
However, there was another change in that after 6 months of Training in this Escorted, Auto-Route, News/Ad-paper Delivery for the StatesmanJournal.
That being the Trainee (who is obviously a Developmentally Disabled Adult) had forgotten what to do when the vehicle had been driven to within feet of recipients doorway. Duh, what now?
This required the well experienced driver to exit the vehicle, walk to the right-rear passenger door and then accompany the Client/Student/Trainee to the doorway where they again Dropped an issue of the publication.

I wonder how these State Employees keep busy the rest of the week. Sell cars?
