Who is Crapping in Craig's List and why?

With having used Craig's List in a professional capacity for the last few years, I have become familiar with others who are equally consistent advertisers.

Therefore, I have been able to notice a sudden increase of new advertisers in specific categories and find a good many of them posting what I suspect are false and misleading ads.

My first thought was the tough economy was bringing in more criminals trying to work scams.

But now I can appreciate how many of the ads would never result in a financial gain for those making the false offers and only muck-up the process for legitimate advertisers.

So I wonder who would benefit from killing Craig's List?
